Improvements to the Active Investor Visa about to go live

On Tuesday, 1 April 2025, New Zealand launches its refreshed Active Investor Plus Visa. This is a clear signal to the globe our country is open for business and has significant drive to attract foreign direct investment.

The changes to this world-leading investor visa sets New Zealand apart from other countries that have either closed their doors to investor migrants or have long processing queues.

If you already hold a Resident Visa issued under the previous Investor 1 or 2 categories or current Active Investor Visa rules (pre-1 April) you might be interested to consider opting into the new investment requirements. A time-limited opportunity opens on 1 April where you may apply for the improved criteria (such as new physical presence requirements, more investment options and the ability to include new close family members). In some cases a new application and governemnt fee is paybale but the benefits of the new settings may outweigh the costs of moving across to this new visa.
