Accreditation renewal roadbump

Immigration NZ (INZ) has notified the market that around 500 employers are affected by an IT glitch.

It seems the majority of employers affected are those who applied for accreditation renewal close to the expiry date. We have been advised the system could not complete certain checks required to issue "interim accreditation". Effectively the system now regards accreditation as “expired” for these employers.

Employers affected by this glitch cannot:

* Lodge new job check applications

* Job checks already lodged cannot be approved

* Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) under process cannot be approved

* New AEWV applications cannot be lodged (new workers cannot apply for visas)

We understand INZ are treating this glitch seriously and working quickly on a fix. Of course, the longer it takes to fix this problem, the number of employers who cannot progress their migrant worker recruitment will grow.

This problem does not affect any of your migrant workers who already hold valid work visas.

It is strongly recommended that applications to renew accreditation are lodged at least 6 weeks before accreditation expires. A fully documented renewal application lodged early will save time, money and stress.
